The No. 1 food tour in Savannah guides Georgia’s Culinary Explorer, Kate Parham Kordsmeier, around Savannah during a video shoot of its Famous & Secret East Side Food Tour.

Explore Georgia, the state’s Department of Economic Development, features the Savannah Taste Experience food tour company in its first chapter of its Culinary Explorer video series. Food/travel writer Kate Parham Kordsmeier sampled her way through the Hostess City with co-founder Stu Card on a private Famous & Secret East Side food tour sprinkled with some history and to-go cups. Kordsmeier has written for more than 100 publications, and heads up the new Kate’s Culinary Blog for Explore Georgia.

“I thought the Savannah Food Tour would be a perfect fit for our Georgia Culinary Expert video,” Explore Georgia’s Communications Specialist Lauren Cleland says. “And the video turned out great!”

Culinary Expert Kate adds, “I think Savannah is one of the coolest cities. You’re eating at the same place that these pirates ate at in the 1700s. It’s just a great juxtaposition of old and new.”

Three videos were filmed in this first installment of the Culinary Explorer, and Savannah Taste Experience was the only local Savannah business with its own video dedicated to their local expertise in the Savannah food scene. You can find the The Savannah Taste Experience video on Explore Georgia’s YouTube channel.

“We were thrilled when Lauren got in touch with us,” Card says. “The entire staff was great to work with and I had a blast eating through Savannah with them.”

He’s also excited that 2015 has kicked off with Explore Georgia highlighting Savannah’s burgeoning food scene: “We’ve got a few new ideas up our sleeves for 2015, so we’re glad that this video captures how much fun our food tours really are and all the hearty samples guests can expect to love.”
