"We took the Famous & Secret East Side Tour with Charlotte and we have not stopped talking about the food or the wonderful time we had with Charlotte. Having never sampled Southern cuisine, this was the perfect introduction. Charlotte made us laugh, gave us goose bumps and nearly made us cry with her sailor story. We left the tour full of fabulous food, knowledge of Savannah history and a few jokes complements of Country. This tour is a must while in Savannah."  Read More

"When it comes to Savannah restaurants, there are many amazing choices and not enough time. One way to get a pretty good idea as to what Southern food and Southern hospitality are all about is to take one of the Savannah Taste Experience tours."  Read More
"Our group of seven out-of-towners is an easy-going cadre of obvious foodies from New Jersey, Virginia, and Illinois, with me representing the West Coast, from Oregon. It's a well-travelled group and one member tells me, “We do food tours wherever we go because they often turn out to be the highlight of the trip.” We chat our way through our tastings, in full agreement that it's best, if possible, to take a food tour early in your trip so as to get recommendations on where to eat the rest of our visit."  Read More

The food was delicious! Our tour guide was knowledgeable and provided Savannah historical knowledge between restaurants. You do not end this tour hungry!

This is a fun thing to do while in Savannah! We tasted food at six different restaurants along the tour and by the end of the tour, we were very full!! Our guide was personable, attentive, and very knowledgeable of the history surrounding Savannah. Would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Savannah!!

Tour was fun, guides were great, food was fabulous! We wish we had done this first, because it would have totally changed our didng choices while we were there!

We had a great time! The restaurants were very accommodating with my shellfish allergy and our tour guide was fab! Definitely a highlight in our visit to Savannah!!

  • YES - A MUST

Our first food tour has left a high expectation for all future tours. Our tour guide, Laurie, aka Country, was awesome, very friendly and knowledgeable about local history, which she happy to share with us. It was a three hour tour of the local cuisine and we enjoyed each stop. It was money and time well spent. We highly recommend this - and you won't walk away hungry.

Our tour guide was a hoot, her name was Country. We took the 11:00 a.m. tour. She gave us such a great feeling and sense of the city's history. It was well worth every penny. All the food was great and they accommodated my food allergy for gluten. I could not be more pleased. It was plenty that we did not eat dinner until 10 p.m. I recommend you do not miss this tour when in Savannah.

Fantastic tour with Brandon! He took us to 6 locations and along beautiful routes, completely filling us in on the history of this lovely city along the way. A great way to get to know Savannah, and the food was plentiful and absolutely delicious. What a treat!

Wonderful tour. Enjoyed leisurely walk and fantastic food. Our guide *Brandon* was informative and made the tour excellent. God bless and keep up the great work. Recommend this to everyone who wants to cram a lot in a small amount of time.

Had a wonderful wet day! It rained like cats and dogs but we had a great time. Lisa, our guide was wonderful!

We enjoyed our First Square Tour in Savannah. Lisa provided a relaxing and interactive tour through our 7 stops and a group of 9 people quickly became friends in this relaxed atmosphere. We recommend this as a great way to spend 3 hours in Savannah.

Myself & two friends had a wonderful time - even better than what we had expected - our guide "Country" was charming - well informed & very enthusiastic - the stops along the tour were delightful & the food delicious & plentiful - I would definitely recommend this tasting tour - a great activity for visiting guests

Even though it snowed that morning, the food tour was one of the highlights of our visit to Savannah! The time flew by as we wandered our way to the different stops. We loved hearing all the history stories along the way. I must say the food was fantastic! Our guide, Country, was informative, funny, and entertaining! I do recommend the tour.

This is a great thing to do while in Savannah. I was with 5 other women and we all agreed that this was a great addition to our weekend. The food was excellent. The tour-leader was knowledgeable and fun and the length of tour was perfect. I would highly recommend.

  • ABSOLUTE 10/10

I cannot say enough about our fun and delicious tasting tour of Savannah. Our tour guide was Country and she was one of a kind. Not only was all of the food from the 7 different locations amazing but to add a genuinely sweet, hilarious and informative tour guide to the mix made it one of our favorite things we did during our trip. Would recommend anyone to make this a must do activity during their stay in Savannah!

This was by far the best thing I did in Savannah. I would highly recommend. Food was great. Tour guide was awesome and very informative.

We have taken many food tours and this one did not disappoint. This tour is takes you off the tourist trail and into neighborhoods you might not normally experience…

Great way to get a sense of Savannah and taste their delicious food! You get to learn a bit about history while having first class service of getting food ready and waiting for you at top restaurants.

The Famous and Secret East Side Food Tour is a great way to have a sampling from 6 eating establishments in one meal while soaking in the sites of the city and learning city history from the expert and entertaining guides. You must start out the tour hungry or you will be overwhelmed by the end! Each stop on the tour was as wonderful and varied as the next. Lauren, our guide, was super knowledgeable, fun, and accommodating. We learned so much local color while experiencing excellent food (and fun cocktails!). This is a "must do”!

My date and I really enjoyed the tour. The food from each restaurant was delectable. Our tour guide, Lisa, was very knowledgeable about the history of each restaurant and the squares we visited. She was alot of fun and kept us entertained. There wasn't a dull moment during our 3 hour tour. My date and I will definitely do another tour and recommend the tour to family and friends. We want to thank Lisa, for the exciting and wonderful day. If anyone is thinking about doing this tour, do it, it's fun and you won't be sorry.

We took the Famous & Secret East Side Tour with Charlotte and we have not stopped talking about the food or the wonderful time we had with Charlotte. Hands down the best thing we did in Savannah! We did book in advance so if you are remotely thinking about doing this, do it! We did the first Square Tour and it was delicious! Everything thing we tasted on our tour was fabulous and the servicing sizes weren't tiny either. We were full after we were done. Lauren, our tour guide was knowledgable of the area and the restaurants we visited. With her being a local, it was great to ask about other things to do in the area. It was worth the money.

We took this tour upon our arrival and got a wonderful overview of the squares, history and general flavor of this walkable, wonderful city. The quantity of food samples easily makes a meal and everything was delicious. Our guide, Lauren, knew so much about Savannah's history as well as the dishes we sampled from she crab soup to the artillery punch (alcohol at your own expense). Another bonus was sampling and shopping at the salt table and savannah bee co. So worth the money and time to take this entertaining and interesting tour at 3 pm the day you arrive to get the feel of the city and decide where you want to eat!

Our tour began at 11:15 am. Parking directions were spot on. You can park for free in Savannah on the weekend . But we chose the parking garage on Whitaker St. Rock on the river was our kick off location. Brandon was our guide. He is very kind and knowledgable regarding history and culture of the area. Savannah in May was warmer than I expected. But we had many "cool" spots stops to talk. So no matter your fitness level, you can hang. Be sure to heed their advice for comfy clothes and shoes. It is a must. Our tour focused on the west side or four squares. I enjoyed the mash up of sweet, salty and a few surprise dishes. Can't go wrong! Will do again!! Rock on the river and Tondee's had great drinks we purchased outside the tour package.

We took this tour after being in Savannah for a week. My only complaint was that we didn't take it sooner!!! It is a MUST DO when you are in Savannah. The food was Fabulous, the history lessons were Great and Stu....well what can I say??? We recommended it to everyone we talked to before we left Savannah (tourist & residents). The best 3 hours you will have in Savannah!!!

On a recent girls trip to Savannah, we went on this tour on our first full day in the city.... What a great way to start off our trip! Stu made the tour both informational and fun... It was also great to learn about a variety of places & try things we wouldn't have known about otherwise... We also went back to a couple of the stops and bought gifts...

This tour was a fantastic idea and should be on the top of your "to-do" list if ever in Savannah. We have a seafood allergy but that didn't stop us from experiencing a sample of the wonderful restaurants that Savannah has to offer. Not only did we enjoy the gastronomic pleasures of the tour, but our tour guide was quite entertaining and we were treated to some great tidbits of history along the way. We got to experience a few places that I don't think we would've been able to fully appreciate had we not been on this tour. I don't want to give them you have to go and see them for yourselves.

We arrived in Savannah without an agenda. My husband found the tours on Tripadvisor and booked one for our family of four. (First squares walking food tour) It was great; Stu was a wonderful tour guide. My teenage girls tried new foods and enjoyed all the history as well. The walking was not too much for us....and we enjoyed each of our stops. We did go back and visit a few of our new finds while still in Savannah.

My friend and I came for a girls weekend to Savannah - and when we saw this tour online we thought it was right up our alley. Boy were we right!!! We honestly believe that it was the best thing of our whole weekend! Stu (our leader) was a fantastic public speaker that mixed history with foodie information and humor. It was a causal walk through the gorgeous streets of Savannah - and allowed us to learn and see some things we wouldn't have otherwise. Although we would go to the same places again - I would do this tour again in a heartbeat!!! I can't wait to bring my hubby next time for him to experience this fantastic 3 hour glimpse of Savannah!

My husband and I did the tour on Sunday, July 1st (yes, the day that it was like 107 degrees with heat index of probably around 115 ish) and I have to say the tour was very enjoyable. Stu ( the tour operator and guide) is great and very knowledgeable, not only about the food but the city as well. There are 6 stops, each very unique and different from each other. Also what I liked was that you just dont go to 6 places try something on go onto the next. Stu winds you through the city, and stops to talk about some history of savannah. While at the food stops, he gives an in depth history of the food that you are eating as well as the history of the company in which you are eating at. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone and if you are military, there is a discount, just FYI.

This tour began on River Street, with our guides Stu (or should I call him "Stew") and Donald. Each stop along the way included tastings of each restaurants specialties and a lot of history as well. We rec'd sweet treats at two famous Savannah institutions, as well as honey tasting and a salt tasting experience. Savannah has lots of walking and trolley tours, but this one is unique! Walking was easy and fun.

Bravo Stu und Donald - viel Glueck und vielen dank fuer ein sehr interesante 3 Stunden. Auf wiedersehen!

My mom and I went on "The Famous and the Secret East Side Food Tour " while visiting Savannah. This was the highlight of our trio and one of the best food tours we've been on (and we do one in every city we visit!). Irene, our guide, was fantastic. She had so much great insight to share about Savannah and truly went out of her way to make sure everyone in group had a great time. The food selections were wonderful and glad we went to hidden gems....places I would likely not even find to go to. A must do tour in Savannah!!!
