The No. 1 food tour in Savannah guides Bri Emery, L.A. lifestyle blogger, around to some of Savannah’s best eats during a video shoot for HGTV for their Dream Home 2017 Video Series

SAVANNAH, October 26 —HGTV and lifestyle blogger Bri Emery handpicked brothers Stu and Donald Card to serve as hosts for their “Eat Your Way Through Savannah” video, part of their HGTV Dream Home 2017 video series. Since the HGTV 2017 Dream Home is located in St. Simons, the new residents will have an easy day trip to Savannah and all its culinary delights. Bri explains, “Savannah is known for its charm and for its food. There’s actually so much to try that I’ve called in the guys from the Savannah Taste Experience to help us out.”

In the video, the Savannah Taste Experience owners highlight four must-visit Savannah restaurants:

  • Wall’s BBQ, featuring Soul Food: pulled pork, mac ‘n cheese, collard greens, and famous Savannah red rice
  • Smith Brothers Butcher Shop, highlighting their blueberry sausage made with all local ingredients that has quickly taken Savannah by storm
  • 17hundred90 for their she-crab stew, a Lowcountry staple
  • And for dessert, Mirabelle Café’s authentic liege waffles. The guys dig in to their Georgia Peach Cobbler specialty waffle, because as Bri says, “It wouldn’t be Georgia without some peaches.”

The video highlights the best part of the job for Stu. “We got into this business in part so we could help promote dozens of Savannah’s amazing chefs, bakers, butchers, and beekeepers. So, the opportunity to show off some of our favorite places to the HGTV viewers is a real treat.” As Donald points out, “A lot of people don’t realize that Savannah has become a really multicultural city and it’s really started to come through in the food.”

With Savannah continuing to attract celebrity chefs like Hugh Acheson and Sean Brock, as well as expanding the Savannah Food & Wine Festival and finally allowing food trucks to operate downtown, The Hostess City shows no sign of slowing down when it comes to its growing foodie scene, and opportunities to highlight both the culinary tradition and the new spots in town are part of the Savannah Taste Experience mission. “We were really stoked to hear from Bri about wanting to include us in her video focused on Savannah’s food scene. It’s always a great day when we get to switch places with our tourgoers and sample our way through Savannah!” Stu says.

About Savannah Taste Experience

Brothers Stu and Donald Card both left successful careers to open Savannah Taste Experience, and they felt there was no better place to enjoy food, friends and family than Savannah, Georgia. They designed their First Squares Food Tour and Famous & Secret East Side Food Tour to show off Savannah’s best features—excellent food, beautiful architecture, storied history, and year-round warm climate. Each tour was designed to allow travelers to experience more restaurants in three hours than they could on their own in an entire weekend. Both food tours show off not only some of Savannah’s Southern cuisine but also an international mix of influences that help make Savannah a worthy culinary destination. For more information, visit their website at www.savannahtasteexperience.com and follow them on Facebook, TwitterPinterest, and Instagram for discounts and updates. Guests are also encouraged to use #SavannahTaste to share their experience on any of these social sites.
