Savannah tops Charleston, Miami, and Sydney, Australia in list of up-and-coming best food cities

June 7, 2018—Tripadvisor recently released “10 Best Food Cities & Food Tours in the World,” which compiled data to identify which activity is most popular among travelers. The piece reveals that “food tours are the fastest-growing experiences category on their site” and listed Savannah Taste Experience as the second-most booked food tour in the top emerging food cities in the world behind Tours Voir Quebec in Quebec City, Canada.

Savannah Taste Experience also just earned Tripadvisor’s Hall of Fame award, which recognizes businesses that have earned a Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence for five years in a row. And Savannah’s overall food scene has recently been earning lots of attention as well, including taking the 4th spot in Tripadvisor’s “10 Best Foodie Vacations in America: Destinations and Food Tours that Travelers Love.”

“We were completely overwhelmed when we learned about these rankings,” says co-owner Stu Card. “To think about all the data Tripadvisor collects and for our food tours to emerge as one of the most booked food tours in the world is mind-blowing, but even better is to see Savannah’s exploding food scene getting all the recognition it deserves.”

Card and his younger brother and co-owner Donald Card have recently made tweaks to both of their highly-rated food tours in an ongoing quest to deliver the best experience possible for every guest. “As Savannah’s food scene continues to evolve, we have to keep up, and we’re so thrilled to add two of Savannah’s hottest new restaurants to our roster of partner stops, Prohibition and East End Provisions,” Donald explains. And they’ve switched up the tasting offered at several spots as well, including 22 Square and Savannah Bee Company.

“We are so excited about these changes for so many reasons. The new partnerships are fresh, exciting and will inject renewed energy into these routes. Not only will our guests appreciate the new, delicious and eye-opening tastings, but they will appreciate up to 30-minutes less walking in the Savannah summer heat!” Stu says.

Savannah Taste Experience was also recently named by U.S. News & World Report as one of the 15 best foodie tours in the USA and a Top USA Food Tour by Viator.

About Savannah Taste Experience

Brothers Stu and Donald Card both left successful careers to open Savannah Taste Experience, and they felt there was no better place to enjoy food, friends and family than Savannah, Georgia. They designed their First Squares Food Tour and Famous & Secret East Side Food Tour to show off Savannah’s best features—excellent food, beautiful architecture, storied history, and year-round warm climate. Each tour was designed to allow travelers to experience more restaurants in three hours than they could on their own in an entire weekend. Both food tours show off not only some of Savannah’s Southern cuisine but also an international mix of influences that help make Savannah a worthy culinary destination.
