13 Halloween Activities in Savannah, GA (2026 Guide)
Looking for things to do for Halloween in Savannah? October 2026 brings candy on River Street, costumed pups, pumpkin patches, and plenty of spooky fun. Here are 13 ways to celebrate, with dates, times, and locations so you can plan your fall trip.
What is Savannah like in the fall?
Most of Savannah stays green in the fall. The live oaks are evergreen and the Spanish moss hangs on all year, but that doesn’t make the city any less cozy. October highs slide from the low 80s to the mid 70s, evenings dip into the 50s and 60s, and front porches fill up with pumpkins and skeletons. It’s the perfect weather for sipping coffee while you stroll the squares.
1. Trick-or-Treat on River Street
When: Saturday, October 24, 2 to 5 p.m.
Where: River Street, Historic District
More than 30 waterfront shops and restaurants hand out candy to costumed kids, and it’s free. Look for the posters in participating windows, then snap costume photos with the riverboats in the background.
2. Wag-O-Ween
When: Saturday and Sunday, October 24 and 25, noon to 5 p.m.
Where: Check in at Pulaski Square downtown or Starland Yard in the Starland District
Savannah’s trick-or-treat event for dogs turns 21 this year. Dress up your pup, grab a map, and collect treats at 100+ businesses across downtown and Starland. One ticket per dog covers both days, and there’s a costume contest, raffle, and wiener dog races. Proceeds benefit local animal rescues.
Our store at 108 W. Broughton Street will be participating in the fun, so be sure to stop by to get some treats for your pup and for you!

Halloween is said to be the night when the line between worlds wears thinnest, so why not ask a question or two? Seven readers will gather at Ordinary Magic for an afternoon of tarot, oracle cards, palmistry, astrology, crystal work, and psychic readings. Bring something big that’s been on your mind, or just come curious about which relative might have a message for you. Admission is free, and every reading is pay-what-you-can. Since it wraps up at 5 p.m., you’ll still have time for dinner before heading out trick-or-treating after dark.
11. Vampire Ball at Nickel and Oak
When: Saturday, October 31, 8 p.m.
Where: Nickel & Oak Lounge, 111 W. Congress Street, Historic Downtown Savannah
Cap off Halloween night with a Vampire Ball at Nickel & Oak, a cozy downtown cocktail lounge and live music venue. It’s a good fit if you’d rather end the night with a well-made drink and a seat by the stage than with a bucket of candy. Doors usually open at 4 p.m., so come early to settle in with a cocktail and claim a spot before the party gets going. General seating is first come, first served. Reserved booths and tables, plus ticket and cover details, are available through Eventbrite, and some live events have a two-drink minimum.

You just have to be ready to laugh. The show is 18+.
